Gordes is the possibly the swishest town in Provence. We arrived just in time for the weekly market.
The market was full of stalls with gorgeous produce and crafts.
We bought some lunch from a stall and ate our picnic by the fountain in the main square. While soaking up the midday sun we watched the world go by and listened to the gentle wave of voices and cars and birdsong.
The food stall owner was Canadian and her boyfriend was English. They take their stall to a different town each day – following the market to sell their fare.
On a day like today and being a city dweller, I couldn’t help but be a little jealous of what seemed like a lovely life!
We pottered around and checked out all the little backstreets before heading back to our B&B.
